Polls concerning voter options can be carried out only after informing CEC

Any opinion poll concerning the political preferences of voters can be conducted only after the Central Election Common (CEC) is informed about this. According to the CEC, the notice should contain data about the institution that carries out the opinion poll, the period when this will be conducted, the planned sample and the institution that commissioned the survey, IPN reports.

Under the Election Code, the results of such polls can be made public not later than five days before the election day. On the election day until the closing of polling places, the media cannot publish electoral materials, such as interviews with voters, about the number of votes gained by electoral contenders during the day and their chances, including the results of exit-polls.

All the notices concerning opinion polls can be found on the CEC’s official website in the rubric “Parliamentary elections of 24.02.2019” or here.

Parliamentary election and a consultative referendum will be held in Moldova on February 24, 2019.
