The Central Election Commission (CEC) has warned that March 9 is the last day when the results of polls concerning the new parliamentary elections that will be held in single-member constituency Hâncești on March 15 can be made public, IPN reports.
Under the electoral legislation, the results of such polls can be published five days before the election day at the latest. In the electoral period, any opinion survey of voters’ political preferences can be carried out only if the CEC is notified beforehand.
On the election day, until the closing of polling stations, it is banned publishing interviews with voters and information about the number of votes polled by election runners in the course of the day and their chances, including the results of exit polls.
All the notifications of opinion surveys can be seen on the CEC’s official website, in the “New Parliamentary Elections” section.
New parliamentary elections will take place in single-member constituency Hâncești on March 15 after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari renounced the seat of MP in favor of the post of mayor won in this constituency in the November 3, 2019 runoffs.
