Polling places set up in Moldova and abroad will work according to similar program
The polling stations opened inside Moldova’s embassies abroad on July 29 will work from 07.00 to 21.00 (the local time of the country where the embassy is located), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The voting process will be managed by the electoral offices of the polling places set up at Moldova’s embassies and consular offices abroad.
The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that it will send 64,941 ballots abroad. As many as 17,500 Moldovans have been officially registered in the databases of the embassies and consulates of Moldova.
According to the CEC, there will be sent more ballots in order to avoid speculations and situations when the number of voters is larger than the number of persons written on the list.
The number of ballots to be sent abroad will be by 1,900 larger than for the April 5 elections. About 16,800 Moldovans took part in the vote abroad then.
