Polling places in Cocieri and Ustia will work until 23.00
The polling station No. 4 in Cocieri village and polling station No. 13 in Ustia village of Dubasari district will be open until 23.00, the president of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Eugeniu Stirbu has announced, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Under the Electoral Code, we have the right to extend the working program of the stations where the voting process was interrupted or blocked for certain reasons,” Eugeniu Stirbu said.
“We regret that the people’s constitutional right to vote is violated, but we believe that the situation in Corjova will not influence the results of the July 29 early elections.”
Earlier this morning, the access to the polling place No. 5 in Corjova was barred by the Transnistrian separatist forces. The CEC decided that the voters living in Corjova will mark their ballots at the poling stations in Ustia and Cocieri.
