Polling mechanism on corruption perception to be developed at high level
A mechanism of disseminating and collecting questionnaires on how corruption is perceived and on related topics like integrity of the judiciary will be developed at the XII Meeting of the Steering Group of the Regional Anticorruption Initiative (RAI), Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCECC), the meeting, taking place in Moldova for the first time, brings together representatives of the RAI member countries, in order to elaborate a long-term joint regulation, which would provide the best mechanisms for reporting corruption-related issues.
“Taking into account RAI's objectives, the intention is to implement international anticorruption standards, absorb the best practices in the field, and build an efficient dialogue among the authorities responsible for fighting corruption in South-East Europe”, stated CCECC director Sergiu Puscuta.
RAI has 9 member states: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania and Serbia, plus an observer – the UN Mission in Kosovo.
The XII RAI Steering Group Meeting takes place in Chisinau during October 30 and 31.
