The heavyweights of the ruling pro-European parties are for a peaceful election campaign, while the opposition promises that the campaign will be rather heated, IPN reports.
In the program “In depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, the president of honor of the Democratic Party Dumitru Diacov said the party of which he forms part pleads for a calm election campaign. “We will focus on our activities and will not attack the election contenders. The people already formed a political view and there is no need of aggression. Correct communication with the voters is necessary,” he stated.
The deputy head of the Liberal Democratic Party Valeriu Strelet noted that their party is for a civilized election campaign. “The election campaign preceding the November 30 legislative elections could be the most important political event in Moldova’s history, possibly more important than the declaration of independence,” he said.
Communist MP Artur Reshetnikov warned the two that the election campaign will not be quiet. “We promise you a heated campaign. These elections are an occasion for the people to pronounce on your corrupt five-year government,” he stated.
