The politicians divided Moldovan society based on two primitive conceptions, considers the candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau Vasili Chirtoca. “Some say “We want in Europe”, while others say “We want in the Customs Union”, “ the candidate stated in a meeting with the personnel of the clothing factory “Steaua Reds”. Vasili Chirtoca considers only those who do not believe in the country’s future can divide the people this way, IPN reprots, quoting the candidate’s press service.
Vasili Chirtoca said the holding he heads, DAAC Hermes, permanently implements social and ecological projects. “We now focus on a nursery growing crop seeds. We want our tomatoes and cucumbers to be again recognized by their specific smell. We also patronize two children’s homes in the villages Pirita and Visoca and the Boarding School No. 3 in Chisinau. Recently, we supported a project of the International Center for the Prevention and Information in the Area of Addictions – the publication of two books in Russian, Romanian and English. In these books, written in the form of fairytales, the children are warned about the dangers posed by the use of drugs and the excessive use of the computer,” he stated.
Presenting his program for administering the municipality of Chisinau, Vasili Chirtoca said his major goals are to restore Chisinau’s image of modern European capital city, to stop the exodus of people, especially of young specialists, and to maintain a favorable ecological state in the city.
The candidate noted that the problems faced in Chisinau will be addressed through a complex approach. All the problems are divided into two categories: those that can be solved swiftly and without incurring significant costs and those that need considerable investments and time. “We will have to work intensely. A multitude of problems need to be solved in three-four years. A large number of projects should be launched. The people must see that the city is rehabilitated indeed,” stated Vasili Chirtoca.
The factory’s employees inquired about problems from the social sphere. Vasili Chirtoca promised to examine the possibility of providing dwellings to graduates of boarding schools and children’s homes and to review the charges on public utilities.
