Political preferences of Moldovans at start of 2017

Five parties would enter Parliament if legislative elections were held next Sunday. These are: the Party of Socialists, which would gain 37.8% of the vote; the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” with 9.2%; “Action and Solidary” Party with 8.7%, the Democratic Party of Moldova with 7.2% and “Our Party” with 6.1%. The opinion poll carried out by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova was presented in a news conference on January 16, IPN reports.

If parliamentary elections took place next Sunday, the Party of Communists would not pass the election threshold of 6%. It would garner only 2.9%.The European People’s Party would poll 1.7% of the vote, the Liberal Party 1.1%, while the Liberal Democratic Party 0.8%.

About 17% of those surveyed do not know who to vote for.

The data were collected between January 2 and 10, 2017. The survey covered a representative sample of 1,179 persons.
