Political party subscribes to demand to dismiss Supreme Court of Justice president
The European Action Movement (MAE) disapproves of the attitude to the mass media working in Moldova expressed by the president of the Supreme Court of Justice Ion Muruianu and subscribes to the demand that he should be dismissed, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the party.
The MAE considers that as it was expressed publicly such a reaction becomes more serious given that under the Constitution, the Supreme Court of Justice, alongside the courts of appeals and the judges, does justice in this country.
”Ion Muruianu, by his dirty attack on the journalists, shows once again the need to get rid of the relics of the Communist government. Under such conditions, we consider that it will be a mistake to allow Ion Muruianu to hold the post of president of the Supreme Court of Justice in continuation,” the party says.
”We think that by offending the journalists one does not recognize the role played by the press in ensuring the social development of the state, including by the constructive criticism leveled at the institutions.”
At the general assembly of judges last weekend, Ion Muruianu labeled the journalists 'rabid dogs that become dangerous for the society, through the lies they spread.'
Representatives of the press and media organizations demanded that Ion Muruianu be dismissed. The is for now the only political party in Moldova that expressed its position on this case.
