Particular political parties, supported by extremist groups, want to repeat the Ukrainian scenario in Moldova, the leader of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the program “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Lupu, some of the parties involved in the electoral race want to enter Parliament in order to destabilize the situation in the country. “They know that they will not gather the number of votes needed to form a parliamentary majority, but this is a carefully planned process. Their goal is to enter Parliament to block its work and then the formation of the Cabinet. The violent messages of these politicians will be promoted by these extremist organizations. No matter how these organizations are called, they definitely are not NGOs. Their task is to cause the first drop of blood to fall so as to plunge the country into chaos,” he stated.
The leader of the PDM expressed his regret at the fact that a large part of the population is confused and does not know the reality. “The activists of these parties do not tell the people their real plans. The people are being told that European integration means loss of sovereignty, which is not true. It’s also not true that the European integration implies the deterioration of the relations with the East. The mission of the pro-European parties is to tell the people the truth so that they know what goals the leaders of the extremist parties pursue,” he said.
In the same program, Victor Chirila, executive director of the Foreign Policy Association, said he does not believe that there is a solid social base for the extremist parties and organizations, but does not exclude that a part of the population was trapped by the false messages of the extremist parties. “A week is left until the elections and the state authorities must take immediate measures. The children at school should be told about possible provocations, while the border police should more attentively check those who arrive in Moldova in this period. The protection of state institutions should be strengthened. Communication is needed with the associations of ethnic minorities so as to prevent their representatives’ involvement in these provocations,” he stated.
