Subjects related to the political developments in Moldova before the October 30 presidential elections were discussed by Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu and the Director for Eastern Europe at the United States National Security Council, IPN reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu asked the U.S. to support Moldova in its European integration, economic development, energy security strengthening efforts and efforts to attract U.S. investment.
“The United States is among the model partner states in terms of security. The Republic of Moldova can take into account the experience of the U.S. in the process of reforming the given sector,” Andrian Candu stated in the meeting.
The U.S. official welcomed the accomplishments in implementing the Association Agreement with the EU and the progress made in fulfilling the priority reform action roadmap signed by the Government and Parliament.
Andrian Candu is paying a visit to the U.S. between September 28 and October 5.
