People’s Movement “Antimafie” files documents to CEC

The political party People’s Movement “Antimafie” on January 3 submitted the documents required for being registered as an electoral contender in the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019 to the Central Election Commission. Representatives of the party said “Antimafie” will run only in the national constituency, not yet in single-member constituencies, IPN reports.

In a news conference held at the CEC, the Movement’s leader Sergiu Mocanu said the lists includes 36 persons. They wanted to field more candidates, but were unable to owing to the created draconic rules and the barriers that prevent, for example, the citizens who are abroad from running as they will have to travel to Chisinau for several times to obtain the necessary documents. “We, the People’s Movement “Antimafie”, are a political organization that knows why it wants to take part in the election campaign – we aim to struggle against the current system,” stated Sergiu Mocanu.

“Together with all our colleagues and candidates, we didn’t want this election campaign organized according to the rules of mafia chief Plahotniuc. We did our best and called on the parties of the so-called opposition to make common cause against this electoral farce. They didn’t answer our call and didn’t contribute, bur there was this pre-electoral chance to create conditions in which the citizens of the Republic of Moldova could freely and democratically choose political messages, not sausages and beer offered by Plahotniuc, Shor and the Socialist lies of Dodon. We will register to take part in this campaign of Plahotniuc angry because of the humiliation to which our citizens are subject,” said the party’s first vice president Daniela Bodrug.

She also said that the political objective of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” is to develop a free society based on the clear identity of affiliation the Romanian nation as it is a party that supports the Western values. ”We, the People’s Movement “Antimafie” , will run under the emblem “No to mafia!” against all the mafia chiefs – from Plahotniuc, Dodon, Shor up to the former and current pawns of Filat,” stated the politician.
