The Liberal Party (PL) decided to contact all the leaders of organizations and movements that promote Moldova’s union with Romania so as to compile a National Unionists List. The decision was taken in the December 26 meeting of the PL’s political bureau. During the next few days, the party’s National Council will convene to discuss the decision taken by the bureau. The member of the PL Iurie Kirinchuk informed about this on a social networking site, IPN reports.
“The PL’s political bureau decided in favor of consolidating the unionist voters around the Liberal Party so that the party in the future Parliament is represented by the most dignified representatives of the nation,” wrote Iurie Kirinchuk.
The decision was taken after the negotiations between the PL and the electoral bloc ACUM DA PAS failed. The Liberal leader Dorin Chirtoacă accused the bloc of excluding the PL from the bloc before accepting it. He said that this way, ACUM DA PAS broke the own rules, didn’t respect meritocracy, destroyed the unity of the opposition and torpedoed the efforts to remove the Plahotniuc-Dodon regime.
