A national people’s movement called “Powerful President, Powerful State” that will be represented in each district and each locality will be created during the next 30 days, President Igor Dodon announced in a conference where he presented his accomplishments during two years in office. He said the movement is created on the people’s initiative and is aimed at preventing the blockage of the presidential institution in the future, IPN reports.

“I respond to those several thousand people who wrote to me and suggest creating this national movement, from down to up, for defending statehood and our principles,” stated Igor Dodon.

He noted that even if he received thousands of messages from citizens, urging him to mount protests, he chose the diplomatic way even at the cost of the suspensions that he considers fully illegal.

The President said he will no longer accept those actions that were taken against the presidential institution by the Government and Parliament through the Constitutional Court during the past two years.

“I don’t want to call on people to start a revolution, but if something like this continues after the parliamentary elections, and this is possible, we will create the national movement and will see what we should do. The citizens are waiting. I call on them and they respond to my call. We have no other way out. We will no longer allow this blockage in the domestic policy,” stated President Dodon.
