The Party of Communists (PCRM), in the plenary meeting of the party’s Central Committee on December 9, decided that it will take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections under the party list and in single-member constituencies. The announcement was made by the executive secretary of the Central Committee of the PCRM, MP Elena Bodnarenko, in the talk show “Important” on TVC21 channel, IPN reports.
The politician said the PCRM was the first party that pleaded against the mixed electoral system, against the election of MPs in single-member constituencies. Given that the people in the country live worse, an increasing number of citizens put their hope in the Party of Communists. “And we could not deprive the citizens of this hope,” stated the MP.
Elena Bodnarenko noted the PCRM will yet boycott the referendum that will be held simultaneously with the parliamentary elections. This is a method of attracting the people to the polls and of confusing them further. “The intention is to attract people’s preferences. If a party’s rating is not high, and the rating of the PDM is low, they try to deceive the citizens and attract them to the polls,” said the politician.
The MP added that the party’s decisions concerning the registration of candidates and the electoral program will be taken after December 26. The Central Committee didn’t discuss the lists of candidates in its recent meeting.
