Prime Minister Pavel Filip does not think that the Republic of Moldova is a captured state, as the Resolution adopted by the European Parliament this week says. He noted he does not see the state institutions to be captured. He developed the issue in the talk show “In Depth” on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

“I talk to the people and do not feel that the people or the state institutions are captured. In fact, what captured institutions mean? Today the PDM assumed responsibility to govern. If we presume that this is right, it means each party that fielded a minister captured this ministry,” said the Premier.

He admitted that the power is concentrated in the Republic of Moldova because the Democratic Party, of which he forms part, in 2016 assumed responsibility to govern together with the Liberal Party.

As to the justice sector, Pavel Filip said he admits that there are rather big problems in this sector. “No one says the system is ideal as we encounter a lot of problems here. What we should do is to understand what we have to do. Let’s close the door and say that nothing goes well in Chisinau or let’s try to conduct an analysis so as to clearly specify what the Government should do next,” stated the Premier.

According to him, the reforms in the justice sector are very difficult, while the situation in justice is now better than several years ago. “But it is not the one we all want. The small justice sector reform should be implemented till the end and one more analysis should be carried out to see what should be changed,” noted the official.
