Polish spring in Moldova

The public organization “Polish Spring in Moldova” invites to the 14th Polish Spring in Moldova Festival that is staged with the support of the Embassy of Poland in Chisinau on May 17-18, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Interethnic Relations Bureau of Moldova, the event represents the visiting card of the Polish diaspora in Moldova and is aimed at popularizing the Polish accomplishments in the areas that are densely populated by them, in northern Moldova, Gagauzia, Transnistria, and in the municipality of Chisinau.

The May 17 concert at the Theater “Ginta Latina” will involve the following singing and dancing ensembles of armatures: “Polonezii Bugeacului” (Comrat), “Clopotele din Starcea” (Starcea, Glodeni), “Pasarile primaverii” (Chisinau municipality), “Warshavka” (Grigorovka, Sangerei), “Randunicile” (Balti), “Koralki” (Tiraspol), “Iris” (Rybnitsa), and “Slobodjanki” (Sloboda-Rascov).

The festival opening ceremony will be attended by Poland’s First Lady Anna Komorowska, Moldova’s First Lady Margareta Timofti, and by representatives of the Polish Embassy and Polish Consulate in Chisinau. An exhibition of Polish handicrafts and publications and the traditional exhibit of photographs showing the work of Polish publications, entitled “Our Life from Festival to Festival”, will be mounted at the Theater “Ginta Latina” within the festival.
