Polish Prime Minister to visit Chisinau

Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk will come to Moldova next spring to take part in a forum that will center on European investments. The official accepted the invitation made by his Moldovan counterpart Iurie Leanca, who is in Warsaw on a visit, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.

In a press briefing, the Polish Premier reiterated that Poland actively supports Moldova in its effort to adjust itself to the European standards. “Moldova can count on Poland’s support in the European integration process. We will support the process of liberalizing the visa regime, which is an achievable objective,” said the Polish Premier, adding that it is in the interests of Poland and the whole Europe to connect Moldova to the common energy market. He welcomed the launch of the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni gas pipeline.

Iurie Leanca said that Moldova counts on Poland’s assistance in achieving its major goal – the European integration. He stated that Moldova will continue to take an active part in all the initiatives of the Eastern Partnership, while next month Chisinau will host the fifth EaP Civil Society Forum.
