Polish ambassador about European integration perspective of Moldova

The Republic of Moldova is in Europe, belongs to Europe and must integrate into the European Union and Poland will provide comprehensive support in this respect, Polish Ambassador in Chisinau Artur Michalski said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

The diploma said that Moldova is now an associate of the EU, which is a very good result. “You will gradually amend the legislation, will implement the European standards and will thus come closer to the EU. For now you are not a member of the EU, but your goal is clear. This association stage is not the last. We are to establish a special, very close relationship,” stated Artur Michalski.

He expressed his regret at the large number of Euro-skeptics in Moldova, but considers that their opinion has the right to exist in a democratic state. However, the ambassador believes that more attention should be paid to this category of people.

Artur Michalski called on the Moldovans to more actively become involved in the European integration process. “Some consider that if we receive a lot of money, miracles will be worked overnight. You will work miracles if you gain this money yourselves and if you have a goal that will lead to better living standards,” he said.

Speaking about the November 30 legislative elections, the diplomat said the EU, including Poland, will accept the election results and will continue to support Moldova, regardless of these results.
