Polina Hurenko, who is of Ukrainian origin, has won a bronze medal for Moldova at the Under-21 World Karate Championships that took place in Tenerife, Spain. She ranked third in Kumite category, 47 kg weight class, IPN reports.

This year Polina Hurenko has become European cadet champion. The athlete trained by Denis Morozov has big chances of qualifying for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

At the competition in Spain, Moldova was also represented by Iurie Gradinar, Gavril Sari, Rodion Onciulenco, Artiom Mirovski and Ion Hasan.
