A police officer of the Botanica Police Inspectorate was hospitalized after he was pulled away for several meters by a car. The incident happened in Sangera town of Chisinau municipality. The policeman, being on duty, warned a driver that he parked the car illegally.

Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that when the police officer warned the driver, the latter became aggressive and started the car, affronting the policeman. The policeman’s jacket got stuck in the car’s door and this was pulled away for three-four meters. He suffered injuries and needed medical care.

The 33-year-old driver left the place of the incident, but was shortly caught. He faces up to three years in jail over use of violence against a person with a responsible post or a person who fulfills his public duties.
