One week after two residents of Vatici village were arrested for raping a teenage girl, the prosecutors also arrested the police officer in whose presence the crime was committed. It was established that the victim was sexually abused by the police officer four days earlier, when the inspector invited the minor to a date, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, on the pretext of having a complaint to examine, he took the girl to the Orhei Police Inspectorate where he raped her in his office. The girl’s statements were later confirmed. The police officer was arrested for 72 hours on charges of rape and complicity in rape.

The two young men who knew the victim are suspected of luring the 16-year-old girl in the car of one of them and raping her there. It happened on the night of July 23 near the discothèque of Pelivan village. The crime was committed in the presence of the police officer, who was in the car.

The investigation goes on. The culprits face up to 12 years in jail.
