As many as 86 cases of fraud, committed by abusively using the identity of the state-owned enterprise “Poșta Moldovei” (Moldova’s Post Office), were registered in the first 10 months of the year. The General Police Inspectorate warns the people to be cautious about messages asking them to change their personal and banking data or provide other confidential information, under the pretext of an undelivered package, IPN reports.
Any request of this type, received by SMS or other communication channels, is fraudulent and does not come from " Poșta Moldovei".
The people are also warned not to click on links and not to download files from dubious messages, to check the source of messages only on the sender's official page, not to transmit sensitive information via SMS.
Suspected cases can be reported to the 112 Service.
