The National Patrolling Inspectorate will make sure that the protests scheduled for September 27 are held in a peaceful way. The Inspectorate's head Marin Maxian in a press briefing said a sufficient number of police officers will be involved in maintaining public order, IPN reports.
The police said that owing to the protests, traffic will be disrupted in parts starting with 12 noon. The traffic participants are asked to show understanding and to avoid conflicts. "The traffic restrictions apply to the streets 31 august, Sfatul Tarii, Maria Cebotari, Mitropolit Banulescu Bodoni, Al. Pushkin, Columna and Dosoftei. The area is expected to be blocked during the demonstrations owing to the large number of protesters," stated Marin Maxian.
Also, the Patrolling Inspectorate called on the protest organizers and participants to behave appropriately and not to break the law. "As the organizers declared that these will be peaceful demonstrations, there should be no attempts to violate public order. The police will focus on the persons who will have an anti-social behavior or will be predisposed to violence. The persons under the influence of alcohol and those who will have firearms will not be allowed to attend the events.
The public transport in Centru district of Chisinau will also be diverted on September 27.
