Police teach children to avoid road accidents

The Traffic Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs this week is carrying out a campaign to teach the children traffic rules. It is titled “Learn the Rules and Avoid Accidents”, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry’s press service. The traffic police officers will display posters themed “We Draw and Learn the Rules” in kindergartens. In concert with the Drivers’ Union, they will give a number of lessons to familiarize the children with the traffic regulations. Contests and debates will be organized in secondary schools together with the local education divisions and subdivisions of the Drivers’ Union. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of road accidents involving children is still high. Thirty-five accidents involving minors were reported in January. This is 20.8% of the total number of traffic accidents. Two children were killed and 35 injured. Eleven car accidents happened through the children’s fault.
