The police started a criminal case over violation of the rules and methods of providing medical assistance out of negligence in the case of the 19 year-old woman who was left to give birth in the toilet of the Mother and Child Institute.

The information was confirmed for IPN by the press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati, who said that the young woman hasn’t yet filed a complaint to the police. The case attracted the attention of the police following press reports.

According to ProTV channel, the woman is not in the country, but intends to submit a complaint immediately after she returns home.

The case became known after the young woman wrote about the difficult patch through which she went on a social networking site. The Ministry of Health and the administration of the medical institution announced that they opened an inquiry into this case. The persons to blame for the violation of the professional deontology norms when providing medical assistance have been suspended from post for the period of the investigation.
