Police have seized four tonnes of frozen chicken meat without documents of origin which was supposed to reach markets in Chisinau, the Ministry of the Interior reported. The meat was discovered on a bus pulled over for verification near the village of Baltata, Criuleni. When asked about the police about the origin on the mean, the driver was unable to provide a reasonable explanation. The police suspect the merchandise was brought into Moldova from Ukraine bypassing customs control and was intended to be sold at markets in Chisinau. The seizure was estimated at 150,000 lei. The merchandize was confiscated and the driver will be brought to justice.
