Eight persons, three of whom are citizens of Ukraine, are investigated on suspicion that they illegally brought over 10 kg of drugs into Moldova. On the black market, this amount is worth about 3 million lei. The eight were remanded in custody at the request of prosecutors, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases.
Among the three citizens of Ukraine is a woman aged 30 who was caught smuggling over 1 kg of PVP drugs at the Palanca border crossing point.
As a result of searches, the police officers and prosecutors also found other psychotropic substances and accessories for selling these at the eight arrested persons.
The Moldovans packed and stored the drugs. One of them was responsible for the sale of drugs through online shops. The other two members of the group who are form Ukraine were arrested while putting psychotropic substances in secret places from where buyers were to take them.
