The police have reported activities related to the organized transportation of voters to polling stations. According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), national authorities are investigating and collecting evidence concerning air transport activities from Russia to Belarus, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.

The IGP states it has reasonable evidence indicating organized voter transportation both abroad and within Moldova’s territory.

In this context, authorities urge citizens who observe such violations to notify the emergency service at 112.

“These measures are taken to protect the integrity of the electoral process and to ensure that each citizen's vote is cast freely, without undue pressure or influence,” the IGP statement reads.

Promo-LEX observers reported incidents of voter influence from the early morning hours. According to Nicolae Panfil, head of the Promo-LEX Observation Mission, there have been reports of organized voter transportation, with increased activity in Istanbul, Turkey.

Prime Minister Dorin Recean assured today that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other institutions are taking necessary actions. “There is an attack from criminal groups. Let’s mobilize to vote. Only the vote can defeat electoral fraud,” the Prime Minister stated.

Similarly, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu mentioned that while voter turnout is strong, there are reports of attempts to manipulate votes through organized voter transportation.

Organized transportation of voters to polling stations on election day for the exercise of voting rights is punishable by a fine of 3,000 to 6,000 lei for individuals and 9,000 to 18,000 lei for legal entities, with or without the suspension of certain activities for six months to a year.
