Since 7am until 4pm, the police identified 106 cases of electoral violations. An election contender informed about campaigning on silence day and alleged instances of voter transportation and corruption in Italy involving another contender. There were registered 13 cases of illegal placing of campaign posters in Basarabeasca, Chisinau, Briceni, Călărași, Cimișlia, Edineț, Nisporeni and Sângerei. Two of these cases were examined, but could not be confirmed, while 11 cases are being examined, Marin Maxian, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, stated in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.
According to Marin Maxian, there were reported ten cases of campaigning in Anenii Noi, Briceni, Cahul, Chisinau, Dondușeni, Glodeni, Orhei, Soroca, Telenești, Ungheni. In three cases, the police ascertained the absence of contravention elements, while seven cases are under examination. There were also reported a case of damaging of a campaign poster and 19 cases of transportation of voters in Bender, Căușeni, Comrat, Drochia, Dubăsari, Fălești, Florești, Hâncești, Rezina.
Currently, the police are examining seven suspected cases of voter corruption in Bender, Căușeni, Edineț, Strășeni and Drochia. “We call on all the citizens who reported cases and provided information to furnish the police with video and photo evidence if they have any,” stated Marin Maxian.
There are also analyzed 14 cases of photographing of ballots. Some of the persons even posted the photographed ballot on social networking sites. The persons who committed these violations well be identified and penalized. The police also received three reports of hampering of the right to vote, in Ștefan Vodă, Cimișlia and Fălești, and two reports of incidents involving the mobile ballot box, namely the damaging of the stamp, in Comrat and Ceadâr-Lunga. Evidence is being collected in the two cases.
