The pyrotechnic devices should be bought exclusively from specialized shops because the products of this kind there are examined and kept in appropriate conditions. This is a recommendation made by the police to those who want to display fireworks and use other pyrotechnic-driven effects.

Natalia Stati, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division, has told IPN that the specialized shops are checked by rescuers and the pyrotechnic devices there meet all the requirements. If the byers are dissatisfied with the products they bought, they can sue the shop.

The devices sold at the market or in other unauthorized places are brought to the country clandestinely, without being checked, and can be dangerous if they weren’t kept in appropriate conditions

Natalia Stati said the private individuals do not face penalties if they buy pyrotechnic devices from unauthorized places and use them in the yards of their houses, except for cases when neighbors complain about noise late at night. In this case, the private individual can be fined 300 to 600 lei.

The unauthorized sellers of pyrotechnic devices are liable to a maximum fine of 6,000 lei.
