From August, the police officers will wear new uniforms. The members of the National Patrolling Inspectorate will be the first to change their uniforms, IPN reports.
A tender contest to select the company that will provide the uniforms was held on July 17. It involved several companies, General Police Inspectorate chief Ion Bodrug told a news conference.
Initially, it was planned that the police officers will change the uniforms by July 1, 2013.
Ion Bodrug said that a center of traffic monitoring with the help of raiders and surveillance cameras put up at intersections will be opened in September. Traffic will be also monitored with the help of cameras from 90 vehicles of the National Patrolling Inspectorate. The cars were purchased by the Ministry of the Interior in leasing for a period of three years.
