Police officers and doctors prevent man from committing suicide

An inebriated man was thwarted in his attempt to kill himself by the police and an ambulance team. Maria Samatailo, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the 40-year-old man from Bubuieci village put a knife to his neck and told his family that he will commit suicide. He stayed so during almost two hours. Meanwhile, police officers and an ambulance came to the place and tried to convince him to abandon his plans. In the end, the man cut himself slightly and was taken to the Emergency Hospital A man aged 33 from Chisinau tried to hang himself, but was rescued bu his wife, who called an ambulance. The men was hospitalized. An eight-year-old boy was struck by a Volkswagen-Passat when he was crossing Dacia Blvd. He was dragged by the car several meters in front of his mother's eyes. The child was rushed to the Mother and Child Center with broken ribs, multiple injuries and a concussion. Two 17-year-old girls from Bacioi commune were riding a scooter when they were hit by a Volkswagen-Passat. The driver left the scene. One of the girls got her right arm fractured. The girls were admitted to Valentin Ignatenko Hospital Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service dealt with 674 calls, including 84 cases of acute viral infection, 93 cases of trauma, five strokes and a heart attack.
