An employee of the Rascani Police Inspectorate was arrested by prosecutors on suspicion that he tortured a student of the Costesti – Stanca boarding school, IPN reports.
The prosecutors said that on October 23, investigating an alleged case of theft, the policeman invited the minor boy to the office of the school’s director, where he hit him for several times, accusing him of stealing the money of a schoolmate. To make him confess to stealing the money, the police officer forced the minor to take off his clothes and to go around the school.
The boy told his parents about what happened and these filed a complained to the prosecutor’s office. Immediately after questioning the minor, two prosecutors went to the scene and collected evidence, questioning a number of eyewitnesses.
The police officer is investigated based on Article 1661of the Penal Code – torture committed against a minor by a public person.
