Police officer from Florești kidnapped by Transnistrian forces in Camenca, UPDATE

An office of the Florești Police Inspectorate was kidnapped from the yard of his house in Camenca town of the Transnistrian region in the morning of October 7. The Prosecutor General’s Office said legal action was taken over kidnaping of a person and usurpation of the official quality by employees of the militia of the self-proclaimed Transnistrian republic, IPN reports.

The policeman’s wife related that her husband was seized by several persons wearing balaclavas and depressed in clothes with distinctive signed of the so-called ministry of security of the Transnistrian region. The man was taken by a car to an unknown direction.

Measures are being taken to determine the circumstances of the case and to hold those to blame accountable. Under the legislation of the Republic of Moldova, such an offence carries a penalty of up to ten years in jail.

Update /3:47pm/ The Security and Intelligence Service said there were identified the employees of the so-called security ministry of Tiraspol who took part in the kidnapping of the policeman from Florești. The collected evidence will be transmitted to the Prosecutor General’s Office. Steps are being taken to release the Moldovan citizen. The institution in the course of the year documented multiple cases of kidnapping of citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
