Police officer caught taking bribe
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office in concert with the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime arrested an employee of the Rascani Police Commissariat in the act of taking 7,600 lei bribe, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the investigators, the money was transmitted by a person from whom the policeman asked for bribe in order not to start a criminal case based on a complaint about theft against him.
The police officer faces five to ten years in jail and a fine of 20,000 to 60,000 lei for passive corruption. He will be also banned from holding certain posts for a period of two to five years.
