Over the course of two days, the Moldovan Police issued fines worth over 100,000 lei for various traffic violations, including driving under the influence.
The most frequent violations reported during August 13-14, besides DUI, were speeding, failure to yield, disregard for traffic signs, and mechanical violations.
Three cases of driving under the influence were recorded. One driver had a 0.45 mg/l alcohol concentration in the exhaled air and another one was tested at 1.16 mg/l. Under the Moldovan law, concentrations of 0.4 mg/l and higher are considered “advanced level of intoxication”.
