The police arrested the members of a group that smuggled and traded in drugs after hunting them for over two months. The information was made public in a news conference given by the head of the Antidrug Division of the National Investigations Inspectorate Vladimir Cioban, IPN reports.
At the place of the group’s leader – a Chisinau resident aged 37 – the police found 5,000 Ecstasy pills. Another 500 such pills were discovered at the homes of the other members of the group. The drugs were assessed at 1 million lei. The pills were sold in discothèques and night clubs.
Vladimir Cioban said that all those who were arrested earlier worked in different EU member states. One of them worked as a driver at a company conveying parcels from European states.
The suspects face at least eight years in jail.
