Police horses’ fate to be decided in court
The Zoo and “Scut” Regiment failed to reach an agreement regarding the police horses. Zoo director Alexei Hantatuc insists the horses should be evacuated, according to a court ruling, while Chief of Police Silviu Musuc hopes the animals will stay at the Zoo.
“When I tried to speak to someone from the “Scut” board, they reacted as if they enjoyed some special protection from the government”, Hantatuc told Info-Prim Neo.
Igor Gori, head of “Scut” Regiment, says he won’t comment until Chisinau Municipal Council announces it decision.
28 police horses have been accommodated for 5 years at the Zoo. The Zoo director complains that since 2004 he has been obliged to cover the expenses of keeping the horses. June 27, 2010, he won a trial and the court ruled the immediate evacuation of the animals, but the decision was challenged and the horses’ fate remains undecided until the next trial.
