Police have no suspects in 2012 loud cases concerning car explosions

The police do not have suspects in the three criminal cases started in 2012 over the mining of the cars of the National Agency for Energy Regulation director Nicolae Railean, former vice director of Penitentiary No. 13 Albert Puiu, and the head of the Customs Service’s Internal Security Division Victor Partac. Prosecutor of Chisinau municipality Ion Diacov has told Info-Prim Neo that a series of versions have been examined in the case of the attack on the Customs Service employee. Some of them hadn’t been confirmed. The examinations showed that a RG grenade was placed in the vehicle, most probably by a professional, who did it by order. It is not excluded that this case is connected with the explosion that happened in Tiraspol the same day. It involved the car of a Transnistrian customs officer. According to the prosecutor, several persons were arrested in the Tiraspol case and they are known as they had been involved in murders by order 10 years ago. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Corneliu Bratunov, chief prosecutor of the Criminal Prosecution Division, said that that they have no official suspects in the case concerning the explosion of Nicolae Railean’s car, but they continue work. He said he cannot give more details as the investigation is not over. As to the case involving Albert Puiu, the prosecutor of Rascani district Igor Popa said that no suspect exists yet, but the investigation goes on. He also refused to provide details. On April 10, Nicolae Railean’s car blew up at a parking lot situated on Testemitanu St in Chisinau. It exploded when Railean started the engine. He suffered minor injuries. A piece was found on the place, which allegedly was part of a grenade. On October 26, Albert Puiu informed the police that there was a device looking like an explosive one in his car. He said later that it was an attack that was related to the post he held and to a case in which he was a witness. On November 29, a Chevrolet car belonging to the Customs Service exploded in the yard of a building situated on Alba Iulia St in Chisinau. According to the driver, the car blew up when he started the engine.
