Police detain two persons suspected of robbing post offices, drugstores and shops

The police have arrested two persons suspected of burglarizing post offices, drugstores and shops in the north of the country. One of the two men was earlier tried for theft, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry of the Interior, on the night of July 29, the men tried to break in the post office in Harbovat village in Calarasi district. Later, they forced the door and entered an office of the kindergarten. Afterward, they entered the local medical unit and stole about 2,000 lei belonging to the branch of the family doctors center’s drugstore. Upon searches of suspects’ homes, the police found a computer, medicines, stationery and other objects. When detained, the suspect with criminal record had tools used in break-ins on him. The police allege he was breaking in, while the other man was transporting the goods by car and selling them. The police are investigating the case to establish if the suspects committed more thefts of the kind. If found guilty, the could be fined 6,000 to 40,000 lei, community service of 180 to 240 hours or imprisonment of two to seven years.
