A resident of Nisporeni town risks imprisonment from 7 to 15 years for putting forged money into circulation and her boyfriend for attempting to bribe a policeman. In this way the man wanted to save his girlfriend. According to the press Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the woman aged 27 was detained by the police officers of the RPC from Nisporeni in cooperation with the employees of the Transborder and Informational Offences Department of the MIA after he had paid in the agricultural market, with forged bills of one hundred and five hundred lei, for goods valued at 4 thousand lei. Her boyfriend aged 44, employee of the “Railroads” SE, attempted to bribe an employee of the Police Commissariat from Nisporeni. The man proposed 400 dollars to the police officer in exchange for stopping the criminal proceedings against his girlfriend. For the committed offence, he is investigated in another penal case initiated on the basis of article 325 (p.1) of the Penal Code. If convicted, the man is liable to jail terms of up to 5 years. From the beginning of the current year, the MIA employees traced 170 cases of corruption and another 75 cases of putting forged money into circulation.
