Police catch man suspected of stealing video cameras from State University
A Chisinau inhabitant faces up to ten years in jail for stealing video cameras from an office of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the State University of Moldova. The suspect was identified and arrested by officers of the Buiucani police station, Adrian Jovmir, the head of the General Police Commissariat's press office, has told Info-Prim Neo.
In July, the thieve broke the lock and stole three video cameras to the value of 125,000 lei from an office located on the fourth floor.
The 26-year-old suspect has a criminal record. At his place, the police found two of the stolen video cameras. The third was sold. There were also discovered a mobile phone, medical stamps, hard disks, leather jackets and other goods. The persons whose homes have been recently robbed can contact the police on 74-68-54 to see if their belongings are among the seized goods.
The young man is liable to five to ten years behind bars. The district court issued a warrant for his arrest for 30 days.
