Police arrest three young persons over attempt to rob two currency exchange facilities and shop
There young men aged 22, 23 and 24 were arrested by the police on suspicion they tried to rob two currency exchange facilities and a shop, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the young persons broke in the currency exchange facility of Banca Sociala in Ciadar-Lunga town at night. They cut the metal bars, but did not manage to steal anything as the money was not kept in the office. They also failed to steal money from a currency exchange facility of Unibank in the same town. Also, they broke in a shop in Gaidary village and stole imported cigarettes, alcoholic drinks and food products to the value of 7,500 lei.
The police are investigating the cases. The suspects are liable to fines of up to 40,000 lei, community service of 180 to 240 hours, or up to 5 years’ imprisonment.
