Police arrest three purse thieves

The police have arrested three young men, suspected to have committed several purse thefts over the last 2 months. None is older than 19 years. One is from Basarabeasca, one from Dubasari and the third one is from Chisinau. Adrian Jovmir, spokesman of the General Police Commissariat, told Info-Prim Neo the thieves committed thefts with the fall of dusk, in poorly illuminated places. They confessed to their crimes before the prosecutors. Two of them have a criminal record. So far, there is evidence of four thefts, but the police think the number of victims is much higher. They ask all those who were robbed by the three thieves to call at 52-11-00 or 902. The men are now in jail. An arrest warrant for 30 days has been issued against them. If found guilty, they risk a sentence between 3 and 6 years, with or without a fine between 10,000 and 20,000 lei.
