The police have arrested two men suspected of murdering a taxi driver in Chisinau's suburban village of Vatra three months ago, the Chisinau Police said in a press release.

The victim, a 27-year-old man from Anenii Noi, died from knife wounds to the head area, according to the forensics report.

The suspects, 24 and 26, were apprehended following special identification and arrest procedures. They both have a criminal past and are drug users. During interrogation, they confessed that they killed the driver to get money for drugs.

The suspects face jail terms of 15 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
