The police in Drochia arrested a man who is suspected of raping a girl aged 11 in a corn field on July 21. The incident happened near the native village of the girl. The 24-year-old man admitted his guilt. He was put under arrest for 72 hour. If he is found guilty, he will get 20 years or life imprisonment, IPN has learned from the General Police Inspectorate.

The young man is from Cainarii Vechi village of Soroca district. He was earlier convicted of theft and actions that disorganize activity in penitentiaries.

According to the police, the aggressor attacked the girl from behind and pulled her into a corn field. He took her golden earrings and cross and raped her there. He then tried to strangulate her with his hands. As he thought that the girl was dead, he burned the vest in which she was dressed in order to hide his trails and went away.
