Police arrest another member of Machena criminal group
Another member of the criminal group Machena was arrested in Balti. He is Igor Kvyatovski, a.k.a. “Malyi” (“The Kid”), also named “polozhenetz” (territorial criminal authority) for Balti City, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of the Interior (MAI), a body search by the police found that the criminal had paper pack in his pocket with a green minced vegetal substance. The expertise revealed it was marijuana. The results of medical examination also proved that Igor Kvyatovski, arrested in the street, was on drugs.
According to police, Igor Kvyatovski threatened companies from which he swindled monthly considerable amounts of money. At the beginning of 2010, MAI put together the accumulated information and operative materials and started the documentation of the illegal activity of the criminal group created and lead by the “thief in law” Vladimir Moscalciuc, a.k.a. Machena. So far, the investigators proved the involvement of criminal authorities “polozhenetz” and “smotreashii” (watchers) in illegal actions like thefts, robberies, blackmail, swindling, etc.
The money obtained as a result of such crimes was transmitted through trusted people to the “thief in law” Machena. In turn, he distributed the money according to the needs, to finance the criminal organization’s activities.
Kvyatovski is 28 year old, was born and lives in Balti and was previously tried for serious crimes. He was arrested for 72 hours. The police are continuing the investigation to prove his involvement in other crimes.
