Police arrest alleged human trafficker

A 37-year-old man from Tiraspol has been arrested by the Moldovan police on charges of human trafficking, Info-Prim Neo reports According to the Interiors Ministry, the suspect recruited a 23 woman, originating from Ukraine, to be transported to Turkey where she would become a prostitute. The man was arrested at the Chisinau International Airport. The police established that the suspect was recruiting impoverished young women by promising them highly paid jobs abroad. But at the destination, the women would be forced into prostitution. If found guilty by a Moldovan court, the suspect could spend up to 5 years in jail.
