Starting Thursday and until January 15, joint teams of police officers and Carabinieri members will carry out patrols throughout the country to prevent and combat crime.
During these ten days, the joint patrols will target in particular leisure and recreation areas, parks, bus stops, train stations, poorly lit streets, abandoned homes and constructions sites, and other locations deemed more susceptible to criminal activity. The patrols will also target neighborhoods and public spaces with increased activity.
Additionally, random checkpoints will be used to ensure traffic safety.
The actions are aimed at improving safety in the community, the quality of the public order and safety service for the benefit of the citizen, discouraging delinquent behavior through the presence of the police and carrying out activities to prevent and combat criminal activity, the Police said in a press release.
